About Me

Greetings
Baris Bingol here—a role-playing nerd for 22 years. Designing worlds, writing scenarios, creating characters, and improvising storylines shaped by players' actions have been my passion all these years.
The universes I have created and played in span fantasy worlds, science fiction settings, and speculative fiction (punk worlds) such as Steampunk, Dieselpunk, Steelpunk, and Nowpunk.
Professionally, I have designed scavenger hunts for conventions, university spring festivals, and corporate events.
I have also provided consulting on using role-playing games in corporate training, the hiring process, and character analysis for human resources firms. One of my favorite projects was designing a role-playing game to test human behavior under pressure for academic research.

My Learning Journey
The most impressive thing in life is learning—at least for me. I always strive to educate and improve myself. Here, you can find some of the courses I’ve taken or similar experiences. You can call them achievements if you like, but I call them: Adventures Conquered Heroes Inspired Epic Victories Earned Missions Executed New Trophies Secured. (Bad joke, I know.)

Personal Taste
I, as a being, am the smartest dumb person you’ll ever meet. Or vice versa.

My ingredients are simple yet potent: a gazillion cups of music, an uberzillion grams of love for games, all baked in a role-playing oven.

By music, I mean everything from death metal to J-Pop. Currently listening to Polyphia, Two Steps from Hell, and Atarashii Gakko!

By games, I mean games—video games, sports, board games, and, most of all, role-playing games.

GURPS is the system.
Éclair is the dessert.
MJ is the GOAT.
Opeth sounds best.
Tolkien is the crowned king.
Bleach FTW.
